We strongly advise bringing a backpack or duffel bag, as suitcases can be cumbersome and hard to keep in buses, beneath seats, etc.. Keep in idea that you will usually have to raise your personal luggage on and off buses and trains and up and down motel staircases. Suitcases with wheels may additionally no longer work well on dust or cobblestone roads.
